Jobs for America

Day after day, as I visit with Floridians throughout the State, one issue stands above the rest as the most important to the American people is JOBS. However, rather than helping to get struggling Americans back to work, the Administration and Congress have focused on pushing unpopular legislation.

Jobs for Americans – that is what will drive our economy, bring us out of the recession, and restore America’s economic health. That’s why this week I introduced legislation that will help small business and create jobs for struggling Americans.

My jobs plan legislation is focused on the following:

-  Tax relief for small business

-  A one year elimination of the capital gains tax for small businesses

-  Making unemployment benefits tax free for 2010

-  Using all repaid TARP funds immediately used to pay down the debt

-  Curbing frivolous lawsuits

Rather than increasing the national debt by spending trillions on failed “stimulus”, bailouts, and big government programs, my legislation will help get Americans back to work by providing tax breaks for small businesses and redirecting TARP funds to pay down the debt.

The American people have it right; the solution to our economic crisis is JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!!

Unfortunately giving tax releif to small business, eliminating the capital gains tax for Small Business and not taxing unemployment taxes all increase the debt. How do you plan to pay for them? Small Business will only grow if their are people willing to buy things!!
Most economist say that both stimulus packages, Republicn and Democrat, were a sucess to a significant degree.
Curbing lawsuits and using the TARP funds to pay down debt have merit.

Great. Must better than Obama's foolishness.

I agree completely with each item you mention. Obama's idea to grant a tax credit each time an employee is hired is nuts. The credit should be given long before the employee is hired.

    Vern,
I have been, as you are, a small business man for over 40 years. Small business doesn't need lots of legislation. All that small business needs is some certainty. As long as small business people don't know how much their taxes will be raised in the next few years by such legislation as the cap and trade, health care, the end of the Reagan tax cuts, etc etc etc., they are not going to launch new plans, nor hire more people. Additionaly, quit adding more and more regulation to them. Then get the hell out of their way!

    The formula is simple.

As a small business owner, I never expanded or hired because of a tax break or even a drop in interest rates. Only a surge of new business got me to add people and talent. Tax breaks don't grow the economy. Demand does. That's why we need the government to spend and run a deficit--to put money in the hands of buyers.

Have you forgotten the potential number of jobs that the corridor between I 75 & Orlando is going to create?

Many jobs have already been created across the country, and many more will be created.

How about controlling the undocumented workers here in "FLORIDA", that would be a great place to start. Or would the negative effect that it might have on your business friends here, create a problem for you when it comes to raising money cause you too great a problem in the future.
